Doris Rosalind Carvalho, age 84, passed away at her home in Salt Lake City on December 1, 1998.
She was born October 11, 1914, in Tyler, Texas, to Neal and Mary Cook Williams. After growing up in Oak Park, Illinois, Rosalind moved to California where she married William L. Anthony and had a son. Rosalind married Raymond J. Carvalho in Hollywood in the early 1950's. Ros and Ray lived for 45 years in southern California's most scenic coastal towns. They enjoyed seeing and collecting movies, reading, gardening, entertaining, travel and good friends. After Ray's death in 1996, Ros moved to Salt Lake City to be near her son, Bill.Ros loved art and was an accomplished watercolor painter. Her creativity enhanced her homes and enriched her relationships. Ros had a delightfully ironic sense of humor and an ageless quality. Her lively conversation, inquisitiveness and sensitive attention connected and endeared her to family and friends. She is loved and will be missed.
Survived by her son, William G. Anthony, and daughter-in-law, Ann Williams Anthony; sister, Marjorie Randall; nieces and nephew, Cindy and Ross Buckley and Judy Randall; grandnephew, Joe Lujan; grandniece, Jennifer Lujan; and great-grandnephew, Logan Morris, all of Laguna Beach, California. Ros especially loved Ann and Bill's sweet and funny Bichon Frise, Peasonly.
Private services will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Heart Association. Evans and Early, Funeral Directors.
