PRICE -- Joseph Wilson Hammond Jr., age 81, passed away December 5, 1998 at his home.

He was born January 13, 1917, in Price, Utah, to Joseph Wilson and Mabel Clare Brown Hammond. Maried Clyda Mae Hammond, February 8, 1941, in Price. She died January 16, 1986. Married Pat Anderson Forrester, July 21, 1986, in Price. Past Master Carbon Lodge #16 F & A.M., where he was a member of York Rite, El Kalah Shrine and Eastern Utah Shrine Club. Member of the Episcopal Church. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Price American Legion Post #3. Former owner of Hammond Insurance and Professional Title Company in Price. Honorary Life Member of Price Elk's Lodge #1550. Member of Kiwanis, The Carbon Country Club and many other fraternal, social and civic affiliations.Survived by his wife, Pat Hammond of Price; son, Jack (Janet) Forrester of Salt Lake City; grandson, J.C. (Heidi) Forrester, IV, of Silverdale, WA. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, David and Robert.

Public Masonic funeral service, Tuesday, December 8, 1998 at 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell's Tuesday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Price City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Shriner's Hospital or St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.
