GUNNISON -- Nelson E. Jensen, 81, of Gunnison, died December 4, 1998, in the Gunnison Valley Hospital.
He was born September 29, 1917, in Centerfield, Utah, to William L. Jensen and Emma J. Hansen. He married Thelma Jensen January 24, 1940, in Axtell, Utah. He was a member of the LDS Church and belonged to the Gunnison Riding Club.He is survived by his wife, Thelma of Gunnison; children: Joyce (Steve) Olsen of Ephraim, Richard L. (Elaine) Jensen of Gunnison, Robert K. Jensen of Gunnison; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters: Ileen (Web) Anderson of Salt Lake, Helen (Royal) Peterson of Salt Lake; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Rulon (Bertha) Jensen of Orem. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rulon L. Jensen; daughter, Judy Childs; and grandson, Blake Childs.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 8, 1998 at 12 noon in the Gunnison LDS Stake Center. Friends may call at the Stake Center Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Gunnison City Cemetery under the direction of the Warren R. Jensen Funeral Home.
