PROVO -- The state intends to file more charges against a Pleasant Grove man accused of an investment scam involving a phony Nigerian oil contract.

Bruce W. White is charged with 12 counts of securities fraud, all third-degree felonies. He appeared in court Friday. At the hearing, David Wayment, senior staff attorney for the Utah Securities Division, told the judge the division plans to file three more charges.The division, an arm of the Utah Department of Commerce, said most of the victims were employees of the Micron Computer Corp. facility near Lehi. Court documents say White promised the victims a 500-1,000 percent return on their money within 30 days and that White had put thousands of dollars of his own money into the deal.
