PROVO -- There are many ways to celebrate the holiday season in Utah County -- from Christmas plays to light displays to holiday concert mainstays.
Each Monday throughout December, the Deseret News will print a list of Utah County holiday-related events for the upcoming week. Light displays at Thanksgiving Point. No charge. Closed Sundays.
Orem
"A Christmas Carol" at Hale Center Theater Orem, 225 W. 400 North, Monday-Saturday 8 p.m. through Dec. 23 with Saturday matinees at 3:30 p.m. Additional daily 5 p.m. matinees beginning Dec. 14. Saturday noon matiness Dec. 12 and 19. Prices $7 Mondays, $8 weeknights, $10 Fridays and Saturdays. Children admission is $7 for all performances.
Spanish Fork
Sixth annual Festival of Lights at Canyon View Park, nightly through New Year's Day. Lighted Christmas displays and music. Cost is $5 per carload or $25 per school or tour bus.
Springville
"Amahl and the Night Visitors," Villa Theatre, 254 S. Main, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 7-12. Tickets $8, seniors $7, children $7 and family tickets $25.

The Chauntenettes women's chorus annual Christmas concert, 7 p.m., Oak Canyon Junior High School, 111 S. 725 East. No charge.

Ballroom Dance Company performance, Ragan Theater, Utah Valley State College, 7:30 p.m. Admission is $7, $6 with student ID.
Chamber Choir of Utah Valley State College free concert, 7 p.m., UVSC Library.
Pleasant Grove
Pleasant Grove Orchestra's annual Messiah Sing-in, 7:30 p.m., Pleasant Grove Junior High School, 810 N. 100 East. Those attending are asked to bring their own musical score. No charge.
Provo
Christmas Creche Exhibit with more than 400 Nativity scenes from around the world, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., LDS chapel, 1915 N. Canyon Road (across from BYU stadium). This is a free, interfaith celebration. Music provided by a choir comprised of singers from various denominations.
McCurdy Doll Museum, 246 N. 100 East, with wax dolls representing holiday legends, 6:30 p.m. Program to feature St. Nicolas, as well as Balthazar the Wise Man, and Befana, the old woman. Tickets $3.50 adults, $2 children under 12, family ticket $12.
TUESDAY, DEC. 8
Lehi
Musikids Royal Embassadors will perform in the octagon area of The Restaurant, Thanksgiving Point, 6 and 8 p.m. No charge.
Orem
Utah Valley State College Orchestra concert, 7:30 p.m., Ragan Theater, UVSC. No charge.
