Arthur L. Wooten, age 55, passed away December 5, 1998.

Art was born July 11, 1943, in Wilson, North Carolina, to Arthur Wooten, Sr. and Ruth Curtis Wooten. He attended North Carolina State University and received his Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering. He moved to Salt Lake City with his family in 1980 and has been employed by Northwest Pipeline since that time.Art loved the mountains, scuba diving, and had a special place in his heart for animals. He especially loved his family and loved having his grandchildren come visit.

Art had a great love for the gospel of Jesus Christ. He also had a great love for people and would do anything for anyone in need. He had a special fondness for North Caroline barbecue and salt-cured ham! He was an expert with computers and his family often referred to him as the computer "geek". Everyone loved Art. His family and friends will sorely miss him.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, whom he married in May 1989, and was later baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Art has two sons, Mark and Kristi Wooten of Riverton, and Richard and Shellie Wooten of Minnesota. Art also had two stepsons, Christopher Reynolds, currently serving an LDS mission in Montreal, Canada, and Shane Reynolds also currently serving an LDS mission in Toronto, Canada. Art has six grandchildren who simply adored him: Chris, Chelsey, Markie, Madison, Kelsey and Kayla.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 8, 1998, 11 a.m. at the Glacial Park Ward Chapel, 2675 East Mt. Jordan Road (9800 South). Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, Monday, 6-8 p.m. and again at the church Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Interment, Granite Cemetery, Sandy, UT.
