LYMAN, Utah--Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, Joseph Ray Jensen, age 73, died December 5, 1998, at his home in Lyman after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 13, 1925, in Richfield, Utah, a son of Michael Andreas and Florence Christofferson Jensen, both deceased. He attended school in Richfield. He married Hattie Inez DeLeeuw of Lyman, Utah, on June 14, 1950, in Fredonia, Arizona. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, October 12, 1996. Ray and Inez moved to Lyman in 1958.Ray loved the great outdoors and loved to fish. He was a high priest in the Lyman Ward of the LDS Church.

Ray was the bus driver for the Wayne County Senior Citizens for six years. He especially loved his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

He will be missed by his loving wife, Inez of Lyman; his son, Gary and wife Mary of Paige, Arizona; his daughter, Rosalie and husband Jesse Christensen of Lyman; grandchildren, Lisa Henson, Jason Ray Jensen, Stephanie Robyn Jensen, Misty Rose Christensen, Christina Lee Christensen and Brandy Ann Christensen; great-grandchildren, Dorian Henson and Cecilia Henson; brothers and sisters, Harold (Buss) and Holly Gale Jensen of Sigurd, Eugene and Reta Jensen of Richfield, Janice and Lavor Robert, Bessie Baldwin, all of Monroe; Maurine and Willis Gardener of Reno, Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters, Adrian Jensen, Leslie Jensen, Jared Jensen, Fern Van Gorder Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Lyman LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Lyman, Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Lyman Cemetery.
