BOUNTIFUL -- Dell Rampton Holbrook, 86, prominent furniture dealer and land developer, died Dec. 6, 1998, at his Bountiful home.

Mr. Holbrook worked in, operated or owned Lakewood Home Furnishings for 60 of the firm's 90 years. He was co-developer of Bountiful Hills subdivision and served as president of Intermountain Electrical Association, Utah Furniture Association and the Bountiful Rotary Club.He was instrumental in raising funds for the Golden Years Senior Center in Bountiful and was active in various other civic projects. Mr. Holbrook was named Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International and received the All-American Businessman Award from the National Furniture Association.

Also, he was a founding member of Oakridge Country Club, an avid golfer and swimmer and long concerned about the viability of Bountiful's Main Street and the quality of life in the community. He served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including bishop of the Bountiful First Ward.

Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Canyon Park Ward, 1190 E. Bountiful Hills Drive. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main, and from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Bountiful City Cemetery.
