GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. -- A telecommunications company is seeking permission to erect a tower on a site in Grand Canyon National Park.

The National Park Service said Monday it will accept public comment on the CellularONE proposal for 30 days before reaching a decision.The proposed antennae and building would be built on Hopi Point on the canyon's South Rim where the park already has a communications facility. The park service said the highest CellularONE antenna would reach about 43 feet above ground level.
