Edison Melvin Richmond, age 92, returned to
his Heavenly home on December 7th, 1998.His family honors him as a beloved husband, father, great grandfather, and friend. He was a kind, generous, fun loving man who loved life and gave freely of himself.
Edison was born February 5, 1906 in Doniphan, Nebraska the son of Fredrick Emmit and Sara Grace Sare Richmond. He was raised on a farm and grew up to be a bright student and talented athlete. As an adult, he relocated to Utah where he developed a successful career in plumbing and heating. In 1936 he married Marion Fern Morris. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he enjoyed activity with the youth of the church participating in the sports program as a coach, brother, and friend. All who knew him cherished and adored him. He will be remembered with great love and respect.
Survived by his wife Marion; two daughters, Rae (Don) Parry, Salt Lake City, UT; Cindy (Glen) Maw, of Logan, UT; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his infant son Edison Morris Richmond.
Funeral services will be held on Friday December 11, 1998, 1 p.m., at the Mountain View 1st Ward, 1400 South 1900 East. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
