Ida Philomene Malbrough Ficklin left this earth on the 8th of December, 1998 at her son's home in Salem, Utah one day prior to her 94th birthday.

Born in Port Vincent, Louisiana to Franklin Enessy Malbrough and Fliciann Roux. She survived in life her parents and three sisters Agnes, Leona and Eva and three brothers, Herbert, Lionel and Jean. She married Andrew Alfred Ficklin, June 1922 at Duplessis, Louisiana. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She had three sons: Fred (LaRae) Salem, Royce (Dorann) and Enessy (Laraine) of Las Vegas, Nevada.Ida and her husband moved to Utah in 1951 from Southern Louisiana and lived in the city of peace, Salem. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Ida was an active member of the LDS Church, and has served faithfully throughout her life. She was a noble women and spent many years searching for her ancestors. This was a work she truly loved. She left her family a great legacy of example, faith and love.

Viewing Friday night at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main in Spanish Fork from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m, with viewing also at the Salem 9th Ward Chapel, 60 South Main, one hour prior to the services. Services will be held in her honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 1998 with interment in the Salem Cemetery.
