The Utah Humanities Council has named four new members to its board of directors.
The council was formed to increase public appreciation of human traditions, values and public policy.The new board members are:
- Philip Notarianni of Magna, the coordinator for public programs for the Utah State Historical Society. Notarianni is a board member of the Utah Museums Association.
- Steven J. Peterson of Ephraim, an English professor at Snow College. Peterson is a founding member of the Great Basin Education Center and for the past eight years has been the director of the Bennion Teton Boys Ranch in Victo, Idaho.
- Donna Land Maldonado of Salt Lake City, program director for KRCL Radio. She serves on the Native American Advisory Council for the Ute Museum and is an aficionado of poetry, music, travel and various cultural activities.
- David L. Dee of Salt Lake City, an investment counselor who is an MA candidate in the Department of Art History at the University of Utah. He specializes in Japanese art. Dee is also on boards for the Utah Symphony, Utah Museum of Fine Arts and KUED-V.
