NCAA begins reviewing USU athletic programs

A five-member team from the National Collegiate Athletic Association will spend this week reviewing a report by Utah State University on its compliance with NCAA regulations.

The review, scheduled to begin Tuesday, is part of the NCAA's athletic certification process. The five-member peer-review panel will spend the rest of this week interviewing university administrators, members of the athletic department and student athletes. The NCAA began requiring the reviews for Division I schools every five years beginning in 1993, but has since changed the requirement to every 10 years. This is USU's first time through the review process.
