The idea for the Outlaw Music Channel was always on Willie Nelson's mind, so he did something about it.
Nelson has joined with the Kickapoo Indian tribe of Kansas and co-founded a network dedicated to Indian heritage and vintage country music shows. The channel was scheduled to begin airing on satellite television this weekend. The singer-songwriter will supervise programming, which will be a mix of country music, TV shows from the 1960s and '70s, Indian music and dancing and documentaries about Indian history, said his publicist, Evelyn Shriver.
"This is something he's talked about for years," Shriver said Tuesday. "Country music is so hot right now, and there is a lot of interest in vintage shows."
