Death: Richard Clegg Stubbs

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, Richard Clegg Stubbs passed away peacefully in his sleep from heart failure on the afternoon of February 10, 1998.

He was born November 27, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Virge and Hannah Grace Clegg Stubbs. He spent most of his early years in Springville, Utah, where he graduated from Springville High-School and served in the National Guard. He fulfilled an LDS Mission to Southern California and later served two Stake Missions. Richard married Gwendolyn Poulsen on May 24, 1956, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and has enjoyed 41 wonderful years with her. He received his bachelors degree from Brigham Young University and his masters degree from the University of Utah.Richard had a great love for teaching young people which he did for many years in California and Salt Lake City. He also had a passion for the real-estate business for which he was very successful.

Richard is survived by his loving wife; a son, Richard David Stubbs, a daughter, Shauna Lynn Stubbs (Scott) Howe, one grandchild, Alexis Ann Howe, all of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a brother, Stanley A. (Carol) Stubbs of Alamo, California.

Our fun loving dad and husband cherished the time he spent with his family and was thrilled with his 18-month-old granddaughter. He had a great sense of humor and showed his family a lot of love, joy and good memories. His family will miss his sweet spirit and support and will continue to cherish him in their hearts.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call from 12 noon - 1:45 p.m. prior to services.

Interment: Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
