Kathryn B. Shand, age 87, passed away Feb. 8, 1998 in California.
She was born December 17, 1911 in Manti, Utah, the daughter of David Francis and Petrea Steck Shand. She was a graduate of Manti High School and attended business school in Denver, Colorado. She then moved to San Francisco with her sister, Alta in 1940. She was a member of the LDS Church, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Women in Construction and secretary of the American and California Orchid Association.Katie will be remembered for the prize winning orchids she grew.
Graveside services will be be Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Manti City Cemetery.
