Death: Callis T. Sanders

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Callis Terry Sanders, Sr., 83, passed away at home with his loving family around him Feb. 11, 1998.

He was born June 7, 1914 in Quitman, Mississippi to John Franklin and Julia Ann Quinnelly Sanders. Married Ellen Pryde March 6, 1936 in Salt Lake City; solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He retired after 30 years at the Utah American Oil Refinery. He He served his country in World War II. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving many callings including temple ordinance worker. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed his beautiful rock garden and yard, and was an avid fly fisherman.Survivors include, Ellen Pryde Sanders, wife; children, Rosalind Callahan (John), Peggy Lee Sanders, Susan Weyland (Bill), John Pryde Sanders, Callis Terry Sanders, Jr. 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister, Eva Lasater.

Instead of flowers, donations to Community Nursing Center Hospice would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at 12 noon, at the Edison Ward, 1401 West 700 South. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment will be in the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road. Funeral directors, Deseret Memorial Mortuary.
