Free fitness seminar at U. to help women `find balance'

Losing fat and busting myths are the focus of a free fitness seminar for women Feb. 21. Titled "Myth Busting: Fitness, Wellness, Nutrition," the seminar will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Fine Arts Auditorium at the University of Utah.

Miss Fitness Utah 1997, Sheila Callahan Petersen, will speak on "Finding the Balance, Strategies for Achieving Your Life's Goals." Petersen is a personal trainer and is completing a degree in exercise and sport science at the U.The program will also feature Patricia Eisenman, Ph.D., a professor of exercise and sports science at the U., whose lecture is titled "Exercise Melts Fat . . . Wrong!" She will present her research on physical activity and its impact on body composition.

Dietitian Tahmina Martelly will conclude the seminar with "Understanding Your Body's Nutritional Needs."
