Church News: Death

Gwen Stewart Ward, 90, a member of the Primary General Board from 1961 to 1970, died Feb. 5, 1998, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

A lifelong school teacher, she graduated from BYU. She spent many years in volunteer service, filling two full-time missions and served more than 25 years as a volunteer at the LDS and VA hospitals in Salt Lake City. She recently received a commendation from Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt for thousands of hours of service.
