`Bravo Bernstein' to include may of songwriter's classics

Intimate Opera presents an evening of Leonard Bernstein in the Rose Wagner Performing Art Center, 138 W. Broadway (300 South).

The first half of the program, titled "Bravo Bernstein!" will include songs from "On the Town," "Mass," "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" and "West Side Story."The second half of the concert will be taken up entirely by Berenstein's one-act opera "Trouble in Tahiti," and will be sung by Kathy Feigal and Lee Willis. The narrating, jazz-style trio is made up of the popular local performers Bob Baker, Becky Ruud and Fred Nelson.

Other performers include Liz Warner, Elizabeth Paniaqua, who has also performed with Utah Opera, and Terry Summerhays, general director of Intimate Opera.

The program is directed by Christy Summerhays and will be under the musical direction of Debbie Griffiths.

There are three evening performances - Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, Feb. 18, 19 and 21, at 7:30 p.m. - along with a matinee performance on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m.
