Death: Dannell George Cottrell

Our beloved and valiant husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully February 15, 1998 after a short illness.

Born June 19, 1918 to William Alvin and Caroline LaVon Cottrell of Draper, Utah. Graduated from Jordan High School, 1935, and received a Bachelors degree from BYU in 1939 and a Master's from the U of U in 1941. Married Glena Bradshaw November 19, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children.As an active member of the LDS Church, he served in many positions including the High Priest Group Leader, member of the bishopric, and as a bishop. He was truly loved by all he met. He served his country faithfully in the Navy during World War II. He was an educator and principal in the Jordan School District for over 30 years. He was very committed to his family. We will miss his quiet, comforting demeanor and his love for everyone he came in contact with.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Glena, his four children Brent Cottrell (Ranonne), Brad Cottrell, Alvin Cottrell (Sharon), and Arla Kay Porter (Jeff). He is also survived by a sister Arlene Nichols (Herbert) and 12 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carolyn Cottrell, all of Draper.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 19th, 1998 12 noon at the Murray Park LDS Ward, 495 East 5600 south. Friends may visit Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So State, Murray and Thursday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
