Death: Glenn Richard Gilbert

Glenn Richard Gilbert, son of James Henry and Louisa Wright Gilbert, born April 30, 1917 in Murray, Utah, went to his Heavenly Father, February 16, 1998 at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield, Utah.

Glenn was raised in Murray, Utah, attended Murray High School and married Jennie Hone on May 8, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, May 29, 1950. Glenn was a High Priest in the LDS Church at the time of his death. He was a people person and loved life. He was loved and respected by everyone he met, kindness and sweetness was his nature. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew him.He is survived by his wife, Jennie Hone Gilbert, Syracuse, Utah; three sons, Glenn M. Gilbert, Lehi, Utah; Gary R. Gilbert (Lilli), Mt.Pleasant, Utah; Art D. Gilbert (Kathy), Pleasant Grove, Utah; two daughters, Alene Nelson Hooks (Reece), Riverdale, Utah; Muriel Garcia Archuleta (Ernie), Syracuse, Utah; a niece, Janina Hone Fowler, Orem, Utah, whom he cared for after her mother's death; one brother, Max R. Gilbert, Murray, Utah; one sister-in-law, Lois Gilbert, Salt Lake City, Utah. Glenn has 32 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers, one sister, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the LDS Syracuse 7th Ward, 1625 South 1100 West, on Thursday, February 19, 1998 at 10 a.m. A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to services. He will be buried at the Pleasant Grove cemetery in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. the same day.
