Death: Margaret Henrietta Shue Norris

Margaret Henrietta Norris, age 90, died February 13, 1998, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Margaret was born May 27, 1907, in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania, one of three daughters of Allen Clayton Shue and Nellie Virginia Grimm Shue. She married Chalmers Gail Norris, Sr., in June 1930 and enjoyed a happy marriage of 61 years.She was a graduate of Susquehanna University and a High School Teacher until her marriage and a substitute teacher after her children were grown. A kind and loving person, she was a dedicated and enthusiastic partner for her husband in his 41 years of service as a Methodist Minister, and created a comfortable and supportive home life for her husband and two sons. Her earthly pleasures included good works, music (vocal and piano), good literature, entertaining, and socializing with friends and family. In later life, she fought a good fight against the many challenges of Parkinson's disease, while still caring for her husband until his passing at Christmas 1991. Her sister Miriam Sproul passed on before her.

Margaret is survived by her sister, Nellie von Dorster, Noank, Connecticut; son, Gail Jr. and daughter-in-law, Reiko, Sandy; son, Allen and daughter-in-law Elsa, Oakton, Virginia; grandson, Jeffrey Norris, Jeff's wife, Kathleen and great-grandson, Jack, Washington, D.C.; grandson, Gregory Norris, Greg's wife, Meredith and great-grandsons, Gage and Asher, Northberwick, Maine; grandson, Andrew Norris, Andy's wife, Nina and great-grandson, Benjamin, Dublin, Georgia; and granddaughter, Kathleen (Kate), Harrisonburg, Virginia. We will miss the warmth of her smile.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 20, 1998, at 1:30 p.m., at Christ United Methodist Church, 2375 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral Directors: Holbrook Mortuary.
