Death: Audrey Matthews Malmborg

Audrey Matthews Malmborg, our fun, energetic, loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep February 15, 1998.

Born April 8, 1922 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Elmer E. and LaPrele Simmons Matthews. Raised and lived in Garfield until the town was uprooted, then moved to Magna. Graduated from Cyprus High School 1940. She was currently employed at the Magna Recreation Center.Married Walter G. Malmborg January 21, 1947 in Ely, Nevada. Later sealed to her husband and children in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Sept. 15, 1967. He preceded her in death Nov. 22, 1994.

Audrey loved the canyons, black licorice, autumn leaves, tubing at Cardiff Fork, Lagoon, yard work, Dr. Pepper, cheering people up with her warm wonderful sense of humor, remembering birthdays, bowling, going to club with Roxie, Idell, Faye, Betty Lou, Lois, and Lela, but most of all, the gospel of Jesus Christ, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was a quiet example of love and caring, and her life was full of random acts of kindness. She will truly be missed, but we celebrate her life as she goes forward with her eternal companion.

She is survived by her children, Stephen E. (Dotti) Johnson, April (Dann) Nelson, Guy (Sammy) Malmborg, Gay Flesher, and Robyn (Steve) Wallwork, 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Glenna Johnson Malmborg.

Funeral services will be held Thursday February 19, 1998 12 noon at the Magna Utah East Stake Center, 2875 South 8000 West. Friends may call Wednesday 6-8 pm at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, and Thursday 11-11:45 am at the church.

Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
