BYU to host fair promoting African-American awareness

Brigham Young University's Black Student Union and a family support group are sponsoring an African-American Awareness Fair Saturday.

The fair begins at 2 p.m. at BYU's Wilkinson Center Terrace and features keynote addresses by BYU assistant football coach Brian Mitchell and Pastor Frans Davis of the Cavalry Baptist Church in Salt Lake City.Other activities planned include awards for those who promote cultural awareness, a poetry reading, ethnic dances, fashion show exhibits, mini-classes and children's activities.

Along with BYU's Black Student Union, the Family Connection is sponsoring the fair. The Family Connection is a support group for families who have adopted African-American children.
