Fight victim stops breathing but is revived at hospital

A man stopped breathing but was later revived at an area hospital after being beaten repeatedly during a fistfight Sunday night.

Police say an argument between Dwayne Brewer, 36, and Anthony Daily, 42, at 918 E. 100 South escalated to a fistfight. During the melee, Brewer was struck repeatedly in the face before falling to the floor, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Phil Kirk.Paramedics responded to the scene about 7:45 p.m. and found Brewer had stopped breathing, Kirk said. The victim was taken to the Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, where he was revived. Brewer remained in the hospital's intensive care unit Monday.

Daily was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault and drinking in a public park.
