Death: Marvin M. Jackson

Marvin M. Jackson, age 86, died peacefully at his home on February 1, 1998, from heart failure.

He was born in West Bountiful, Utah, on December 26, 1911, to Melvina Moss and John Jackson. He married Edna Harrison on September 19, 1930. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was an active member of the Bountiful 58th Ward of the LDS Church. He served in many church leadership positions. He had the opportunity to meet President and Sister David O. McKay on several occasions while working in the produce business. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, teaching his family the value of hard work and generosity, supporting them on missions and their educational endeavors. He loved his trips to California with his wife, fishing, being a grandfather and participating in sports.

He is survived by his wife and children, Marine Willey of Bountiful, Deon (Ralph) Hatch of Centerville, Stephen (Marsha) Jackson of Kaysville, and Tamera Schultz of Wyoming; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, one great great- grandchild; and one sister, Myrtle (Ira) Holbrook of Salt Lake City. One grandson is presently serving in the Marilia Brazil Mission. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Patricia, three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 1998, at 1 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. or Wednesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery following the service.
