Police found the badly decomposed body of a 51-year-old woman Friday morning slumped over the steering wheel in her car in a downtown Salt Lake parking lot. There were no obvious signs of trauma to her body, but it appears that she died more than a month ago, said Salt Lake police Lt. Phil Kirk. A security guard called police after he saw the woman in a car parked in a lot at 105 N. 400 West. No one noticed the car or the woman earlier because it was parked in a lot where people park for days or weeks at a time when they go out of town, he said. The medical examiner's office will set about the task of confirming the woman's identity and how she died.
