Death: Emory Watts Berrett

Emory Watts Berrett, age 79, died February 20, 1998 in his home after an extended illness.

Born June 2, 1918 in Union, Utah to Frank Hookway and Dollie Alice Cole Berrett. Resided in Utah most of his life. Since 1942 he was a manufacturers representative and in 1957 started Berrett, Spilman, Samson Co. where he remained until his retirement in 1988. He was a member and former president of the Pot & Kettle Club.Survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Diane Berrett Carlson; stepdaughter, Barbara Forbes of Texas; sisters, Elaine Kramer, Janice Mosher, Gloria Hegsted and brothers, Wayne and Blaine Berrett; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Fern Ann Story; two sons, James Emory and Larry Gene; grandson, Rob G. Carlson; brothers, Sterling and Alden; sisters, Ideal Toone and Leslie Wilde.

His family will always remember his ready smile and great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 1998 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive where family and friends may call from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
