No tax break on 2nd homes

In regard to your Jan. 18 editorial in support of state Sen. David Buhler's proposal that a tax break be given to second homes, I would remind you of the prophet Amos' (3:13-15 ) warning of God's judgment on domestic luxury, on those who own both winter houses and summer houses while there are still poor (our homeless?) among them. Which comes first, lower taxes (on second homes) that allow some to have a second home, or higher taxes (on second homes) that might make it possible (according to how the revenues are used) for some to have a first home?
