A man was shot in the leg after an argument turned violent at a West Salt Lake restaurant Saturday.

"Two men got into it," said Salt Lake City Police Lt. Arthur Healey. "They argued and yelled until one of them pulled out a gun."Thomas Ramirez, 32, tried to dash away, but the gunman fired two bullets - both hitting him in the leg, Healey said. Ramirez made it outside and was running across the street when the bullets caught him.

The assailant jumped into a car and sped away after taking the shots.

A friend of Ramirez drove him to LDS Hospital, where he was treated and released. Ramirez left the scene by the time police arrived, Healey said.

Officers had not taken the gunman into custody by 6 p.m. Saturday. Investigators know who the assailant is and know where to find him, Healey said.
