On the 21st of February, 1998, our lovely mother, sister and friend, Elaine, received a release from her ailing earthly tabernacle.

Her parents, William Alonzo and Faye Meikle Eckersley greeted her on February 24, 1924 in the town of Garfield, Utah. Elaine socialized and was educated at Cyprus High School. Patriotic, she worked at a munitions facility during World War II. She created lifelong memories and friends during an LDS mission in Palmyra, New York. She married Virgil Wilbert Cline on June 19, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised five children, Laura, Annette, Michelle, Terry and David, during their 41 years together. A lifelong active member of the LDS Church, she served as Relief Society President, RS Counselor, and in many musical capacities. As a homemaker she cooked and baked unceasingly. She sacrificed willingly for others, and was very industrious. She loved ice cream, painting and quilting. Involved with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers she loved antique anything. She played the piano frequently and sang beautifully.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Jeremy Nichols, Joseph Anderson, Debra Cline and Kathy Cline; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her sister, Marilyn Harwood and husband, Don; her stepsister, Betty Bensen and her husband, Ken. Preceded in death by a sister, Phylis, who died at age 6.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Garden Terrace Alzheimers Center for their vigilant and caring service the past two years.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
