Karl Malone Power forward

The Mailman has been Mr. Consistency for the Jazz this season. He's scored 18 or more points in every game and has netted 20-plus in 49 or 52. Malone has pulled down double-digit rebounds in five of Utah's past six games and in three straight. He's making oanother strong bid to be the MVP of the league, though Michael Jordan may be the sentimental choice in part because of his retirement threats.

Hornacek has scored in double figures in 11 of Utah's past 13 games. Hornacek is still among the league leaders in free throw and 3-point shoting. He had a fine all-around game in limited minutes (because it was a blowout) against the Knicks, scoring 11 points with six rebounds and six assists.

Greg Ostertag Center

Utah's only 7-footer has been replaced on the roster by a 6-11 rookie, William Cunningham, who actually started two games while Foster was taking a couple of vacation days in Orlando. ostertag will likely be out at least another two weeks with the stress fracture to his left leg, but the Jazz seems to be doing fine without him. Utah is 5-0 since Tag went on the injured list.

Howard Eisley Point guard

Eisley has had a fine season, both as a starter early and as a backup since Stockton's return, but was uncharacteristically turnover prone last week. In Utah's past three games he's turned the ball over 12 times while dishing out only nine assists. His shooting has been a bit off, too, as he was 3-for-12 from the field in the games against New York and San Antonio.

The second-year man out of Georgia scored 23 points in Utah's last two games, including 13 against the Knicks. After struggling from the free throw line early in the yer, Anderson has been outstanding lately. In the past five games he's made 14 of 15 foul shots - 93.3 percent.

Keefe has been a rebounding machine of late. He pulled down 12 boards - including nine offensive - on Monday against the Hornets and added another dozen against the Knicks. The Jazz needed him to go strong to the boards - especially now that Ostertag is out with a stress fracture. Keefe also averaged 10.3 points in the three games last week.

Russell is still coming off the bench, but he's getting starter-like minutes. He's played 30 or more minutes in four straight games - which is something even Malone can't say. Russell has found his range from behind the new 3-point line, having made 10-of-20 from beyond the arc in the last seven games. He's also rebounding well (5.3 per game in last three) and playing strong defense.

Antoine Carr Center/forward

The Big Dawg is in a bit of a slump. He's 0-for-8 from the field with only one rebound in the last two games. In the five games since Ostertag's injury, Carr has averaged 18 minutes of playing time, but grabbed only a total of six boards - for an average of 1.2 rebounds per game.

Greg Foster Center/forward

Foster perhaps had the most unforgettable week of his playing career - but not for what happened on the cour. He started the week as the Jazz's starting center in place of Ostertag and ended the week with the same job description. But in the middle he was a member of the Orlando Magic. Thanks to Rony Seikaly's failure to show up, Foster is back. Unlike Morris, he's happy about it.

Chris Morris Forward/guard

Morris was looking foward to getting playing time in Orlando, so it was a bitter pill for him to swallow when he was returned to sender. He's about done doing his time insUtah, however, as he's a free agent at season's end and won't be re-signed. If his bad attitude continues and it starts to disrupt the team, he may be gone before then.
