Clayton L. Perkins passed away Feb. 19, 1998, in Mesa AZ from complications of a stroke.

He was born Dec. 15, 1915, in SLC, to Daniel and Margaret Perkins. He married Ruth E. Lyon in the Salt Lake Temple Nov. 9, 1939. Ruth passed away May 3, 1983. He married Ella Nelson Nov. 26, 1983, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.Clayton graduated from San Juan high school and U. of U. He served in the Navy during World War II. He served an LDS mission in the eastern states and was Bishop of the Winder Ward.

Clayton served many more church callings, including 6 missions for his church. Clayton loved the Gospel and shared his testimony by example and teachings.

Clayton worked for KSL Television for 17 years, a factory rep for Pomona Tile and a partner in Abbey Carpet in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He is survived by wife, Ella, AZ; sons: Gene (Cam) SLC, Gary (Maylene) CA; Stepchildren: Roy Nelson (Gloria), Vern Nelson (Ann), Joyce David (Pete), Vonda Harper (Lorin), Vaughn Nelson (Suzie), 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; sisters: Connie Campbell, Phyllis Rigdon, Brother: Jim Perkins. Preceded in death by parents, wife, Ruth and brother, Mardan Perkins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday Feb. 26, 1998, 11 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services.

Interment: Holladay Cemetery.
