Charles Gaylen Gisseman passed away February 24, 1998, from a sudden illness.

He was born September 10, 1935 to Stella Facey and Ernest Gisseman. He grew up in Midvale and was a proud graduate of Jordan High School and the University of Utah. He was retired honorably and faithfully from the United States Army.Gaylen recently retired after 39 years as teacher/councilor at Hillcrest Jr. High in Murray, where he touched many lives. He was a member of the LDS Church, serving in numerous callings, his latest being a full-time missionary in the Historical Department of the Church.

He is survived by his father, Ernest, wife Louise, son, Scot (Jody), daughters, Cyndie Albert, Elaine (Rob) Beardshall, Kay (Bob) Bowden, Laurie (Kevin) Boogert; grandchildren, Charles Albert; Spencer, Anne, David, Desi and Amy Beardshall; Bobby, Jordan, Kevin and Alex Bowden; Heidi, Jill and Molly Boogert; Angela (Curtis) Timothy; and great-grandchild Fischer Timothy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 1998 at the Valley View First Ward, 2000 East 3900 South. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive and at the ward on Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
