Schoolteachers and business leaders will learn to work together to prepare students for college and the work force at a Utah Valley State College conference March 12 and 13.

UVSC and Mountainland School-to-Careers Technical Prep program holds the conference each year. Cost for the two-day conference is $45 for one day and $75 for two."Our goal is to help teachers draw a stronger connection between the concepts taught and how those concepts relate and are applied to a student's further educational or career goals," said Valerie Lewis, director of Mountainland program.

The conference will feature J.D. Hoye, the former director of the national School-to-Work Office. He was responsible for the first joint initiative involving the U.S. Departments of Labor and Education.
