Harriet S. (Bunny) Lovinger, Salt Lake City resident, died Feb. 23, 1998 in Delta, Colorado while staying at the home of her daughter.

Born Nov. 1, 1909 in Salt Lake City to Arthur Edward Smith and Fannie Durant. Attended Mills College, Oakland, CA, graduating in Liberal Arts and Elementary Education. Married Lee Lovinger, Jr. June 17, 1937; he preceded her in death in February, 1994. Member Presbyterian Church. She loved golf, gardening, bowling, opera, and traveling in both, the U.S. and abroad. She played the piano by ear. She loved her grand and great-grandchildren, her son-in-law, Dean and her darling daughter, Laura Lee (as she called her), cats and bunnies. Her husband Lee gave her a bunny charm the first year of their marriage on Easter and every year thereafter, and gave her a stuffed bunny every year they were married.She was one of the first set of twins born at the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City. She loved her caretakers in Olathe and called them her best friends. She loved to speak French. She lived in the same house from 1946 to 1997.

Also survived by her brothers-in-law, Jules R. Lovinger, St. George; C.W. Nortz, Salt Lake City; nieces, Nancy Mathews, and Jane Ann Roberts, both of Salt Lake City.

Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 6th, at the Salt Lake Memorial Mausoleum, 1001 11th Ave, SLC. Funeral directors, Montrose Funeral Home, Montrose, Colorado.
