Minor avalanches in the North Fork of Provo Canyon below Sundancebriefly closed the canyon road up to the resort area Thursday afternoon.
Utah Department of Transportation official Craig Haskell said the avalanches were actually minor slough-offs that are routine for this time of year."It's real steep in some places in that canyon, and we tend to get this when we have a lot of snow," Haskell said. "It's nothing unusual."
The roadway was closed mid-afternoon for about 30 minutes, he said.
