Death: William Layne Bottomfield

William Layne Bottomfield, 84, of Pleasant Grove passed away Thursday Februrary 26, 1998 at American Fork Hospital.

He was born April 25, 1913 in Fillmore, Utah to John and Lydia Rogers Bottomfield. He married Goldie Dollie Rackman in Fillmore, Utah. He grew up in Fillmore, Utah and attended school there. After his schooling he served in the Marine Corp in the Pacific. After his marriage to Goldie they resided in Fillmore where he worked as a dry farmer. They later moved to Pleasant Grove in 1956. He worked as a chemist at Dugway Proving grounds. Layne had a passion for golf and loved to play on a daily basis with his friends from Pleasant Grove. He loved gardening and sharing the things he grew with family, neighbors, and friends.He is survived by two sons and three daughters: Gerald (Carol) Bottomfield, Las Vegas; Roger (Francell) Bottomfield, Gilbert, Arizona; Nanette Keiser, Las Vegas; Billie (Clint) Wilson, American Fork; Donnalee (Tim) Eisenhart, Lehi; 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include three sisters: Angie Green, Jackie Hunsaker, and Millie Pace. He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie, a son, Gordon Bottomfield, and a grandson, Layne Bottomfield.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 1998 at 1:30 p.m. in the Battlecreek First Ward Chapel, 1250 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
