Cosmologist Hawking to speak at White House

Cosmologist Stephen Hawking will give a lecture at the White House on March 6. The topic, Cambridge University said Friday, will be "science in the next millennium."

Hawking, who wrote the best seller "A Brief History of Time" and teaches at Cambridge, will address 160 guests at the second of President Clinton's "millennium evenings."Hawking, 56, is paralyzed by motor neuron disease and has been unable to speak since 1985. He communicates through an electronic synthesizer.
