Actor Daniel Baldwin was hospitalized in critical condition early today after a cocaine overdose at New York's Plaza Hotel, The Associated Press has learned.

Baldwin, 36, was rushed to St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital early Monday, police sources said on condition of anonymity.He had damaged his room at the hotel, where employees said Baldwin was not a registered guest. Jennifer Noonan, a spokeswoman for the United Talent Agency, which represents Baldwin, said any statement would likely come from Baldwin's family but had no other information.

Baldwin, who once portrayed a detective on the TV series "Homicide," is the brother of actors Alec, Billy and Stephen Baldwin.
