Arthritis sufferers can stay fit, reduce pain, and have companionship by participating in the Arthritis Foundation Aquatics Program (AFAP).
The AFAP is a series of gentle activities performed in the pool which are designed to relieve the pain and stiffness caused by arthritis. Water buoyancy reduces stress on the joints. It is not necessary to know how to swim in order to take the classes, which will be held at the Bonneville Health and Rehabilitation Center beginning Feb. 12. Classes will run for six weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m.
To register, call 262-3401 ext. 274, or call the Arthritis Foundation for more information at 1-800-444-4993.
