Death: Adrian N. Slighting, Jr.

Adrian was born to Adrian and Inez Slighting, Sr., June 16, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Surrounded by his family he died peacefully on Feb 1, 1998 in Salt Lake City after a courageous battle with cancer.

Adrian attended Ensign Elementary, Bryant Jr. High, and West High Schools. He married Vicki Jeanne Crabtree on May 29, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple. Following their marriage, Adrian served honorably for four years in the USMC. Adrian was a devoted member of the LDS Church, most recently serving as a High Priest Quorum instructor. Adrian was able to pursue his many loves which included running, bicycling, hiking, reading, studying the US Constitution and gardening. The pinnacle of all of his passions was his family. All decisions made throughout his life revolved around his family and their welfare. We will always remember his physical abilities, spiritual strength, character, and unwavering honesty. He was proud of his children and taught them the value of hard work, personal honesty and integrity, and to just do your very best.Preceded in death by both parents. Survived by his wife, Vicki; sons, Scott (Melinda), Alan (Nena), Dale (Melody), and Brad; seven grandchildren; and sister, Joanne Newman, Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Funeral services on Thursday, February 5th, 12 Noon, Winder 7th Ward, 4350 South 1100 East. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Wednesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. and at the Ward on Thursday, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
