A skilled artist and story teller, she used her talents to better the lives of her son, Dr. Hermann A. Peine, her daughter-in-law, Louise Merkley Peine, and her grandchildren Emily, Jordan, Jonathan, Alina, and Michael. Sealed to her husband in the Salt Lake Temple 40 years after her war wedding, failing health did not keep her from attending the temple on her yearly anniversary date. She is also survived by a loving brother, Hans Otto Deppe, Dortmund, Germany, and her close friend and sister, Ursula Specht Ermlich, of Goettingen, Germany.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 5, at 11 a.m. at the Yalecrest First Ward, 1035 South 1800 East. Family and friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Wednesday, February 4 from 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to the church services. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
