Death: Howard A. Bird

Howard Alleman Bird died February 2, 1998 at the age of 87.

Born Feb 16, 1910 to Reed and Menett Alleman Bird in Springville, Utah. He married Irene Haynie on June 28, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served as a teacher, school principal, LDS Seminary Principal and 32 yr employee of the State Division of Workforce Services. Howard served an LDS Mission in the Eastern States from 1930-1932. He was an active High Priest in the Monument Park 7th Ward and served many church callings. He loved teaching and making the gospel meaningful in the lives of others. He taught Sunday School for 63 years.He is survived by his wife and their three children: Bruce H. (Janet) of Tooele, Gary H. (Betty) of Salt Lake, and Judith Lynette (Larry) London of Porterville; 15 Grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dan R. (LaDean) and J. Reed (Joyce), and one sister, Martha. Preceded in death by sister, Margaret (Arch) Williams.

Funeral services will be Friday, Feb 6th at 11 a.m. at the Monument Park 7th Ward, 1794 Texas St. (2430 E. 1794 So.) Friends may call Thursday evening 6 -8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Mortuary 2350 East 1300 South, or Friday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the 7th Ward. Burial will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 South.
