Scientists find duck-billed fossil in Antarctica

Argentine and American scientists in Antarctica have found remains of a 66-million-year-old duck-billed dinosaur.

It's the first duck-billed dinosaur to be discovered on that continent, which scientists believe once was connected to the Americas. Duck bills have been found in the Americas before. The Antarctic remains were found on Vega Island by paleontologists Judd Case of Saint Mary's College in Moraga, Calif., and Sergio Marenssi of the Antarctic Institute. Argentina's La Nacion daily reported on their work Wednesday.

The dig also unearthed remains of an ancient bird, plesiosaurs, giant marine reptiles and other fossils.
