Granite increasing fees for junior high sports

Students in Granite School District will pay more to take part in junior high sports, the Granite Youth Symphony and to go to camp at Mill Hollow.

On Tuesday, the school board adopted three fee increases but held the line on all others.Junior high sports participation fees will increase from $5 to a maximum of $15 depending on the number of sports a student plays.

Youth symphony fees will go up to $20, a $5 increases needed to cover the rising price of sheet music. Students also will pay $1 more a day to to use the district's summer camp. The increase is needed to cover increased food and student supervision costs.
