Death: Walter Ernest Longhorst

Walter Ernest Langhorst, age 78, passed away peacefully on February 2, 1998 in Sun City West, Ariz. after a long battle with heart disease.

Born May 27, 1919 in New York City to Henry and Elsie Langhorst. He married Eileen Nora Ricks on November 10, 1945 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Walt was an avid hunter, golfer, and sportsman and passed this love on to his children. He spent 30 years traveling the country as the consummate "Remington Man". He loved his work and his customers and gave his all to both. An accomplished trapshooter, he won the North American Clay Target Championship in 1968.He is survived by his wife, Eileen; daughters, Marge Dunn and Mary Kortkamp; sons, Jeff Langhorst and Eric Langhorst; grandchildren: Greg Lavender, Jennifer Lavender, Sarah Kortkamp, Meghan Kortkamp, Natalie Langhorst, Audrey Langhorst, Meagan Rumph, Kevin Rumph, and Steven Rumph.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 1998 at 1 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1710 So. Foothill Blvd., in Salt Lake City.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Walt's name to: The Alzheimer's Assoc., 455 E. 400 So., Suite 208, SLC, Utah 84111.
