Sabres keep unbeaten streak alive

Donald Audette scored two power-play goals as the Buffalo Sabres remained unbeaten in their eighth straight game with a 2-2 tie against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday in Buffalo.

Jagr registered his 700th career point when he scored the game-tying goal late in the second period as the Penguins went winless for the third straight game.Audette scored once in the first period and again in the second, giving him his second two-goal game this week. He also scored twice Monday in a 7-3 victory over Tampa Bay.

Eddie Olczyk scored the other goal for the Penguins, who play at Ottawa Saturday before starting the Olympic break. The Sabres will play the same night at Montreal.

The Sabres, heading into the game on a 4-0-3 streak, were anxious to see how they would fare against the Penguins, who lead the Northeast Division with 70 points. Buffalo played better in the first period but blew two one-goal leads in the second before both teams played an even third.

CANUCKS 5, OILERS 4: At Vancouver, B.C., Peter Zezel had a goal and an assist in his debut with Vancouver as the Canucks defeated Edmonton on the heels of their three-day trade blitz.

Zezel, acquired from New Jersey in one of Vancouver's four trades this week, scored on his first shift as a Canuck just 53 seconds into the first period, the first of three straight goals by his new team.

Zezel one-timed a cross ice pass from Alex Mogilny to open the scoring and then teamed up with Mogilny to set up Markus Naslund midway through the period for a two-goal lead.

Mathias Ohlund added his fourth of the season to make it 3-0 at 11:18 of the first.
