Strategy document to help U.S., Mexico fight drug war

Mexican and U.S. officials are achieving some success in working more closely to fight illegal drugs, and their efforts will be strengthened by a strategy document released Friday, President Clinton said.

The 41-page strategy is based on 16 goals the president and Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo agreed on in May.It was released less than a month before the Clinton administration is scheduled to decide whether to renew Mexico's certification as a cooperative partner in the anti-drug war.
